The Cowles Company was formed in 1996 by Memphis native, Bernard Cowles, as a small construction company catering to the needs of small families and young professionals looking to renovate. Soon Bernard realized the potential and value that urban in-fills and neighborhood revitalization offer to the local historic districts. The Cowles Company soon focused on such revitalization projects and began developing select locations and searching for new infill possibilities.
